The First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania is excited to announce Raise the Region 2013, an event to help the community support local nonprofit organizations fund raising efforts.  FCFP, in partnership with Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships, will be launching a 24-hour fundraising event on March 12, 2013.  Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships has donated $125,000 that will be used to match a portion of donations made to preregistered nonprofits.  Additional monetary prizes and incentives, sponsored by Larson Design Group, will be awarded throughout the entire event.  This program is designed to help you kickoff your 2013 fundraising campaigns and increase your donor base. Raise the Region is a 24-hour fundraising event for participating nonprofits.  It is an initiative of the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania. The aim of this initiative is to:

  • Promote the awareness and support of local nonprofits in our region
  • Launch a 24-hour giving campaign for local nonprofits
  • Increase individual funding to nonprofits through a concentrated, online, matching gift campaign

Meet the increasing needs of our region through a strategic and unified philanthropic effort How It Works

  1. On March 12, donors will visit www.raisetheregion.org from a computer, smart phone, iPad, etc.
  2. Identify the nonprofits participating in the event and learn how their work is impacting our community.
  3. Make an online donation to support one or more of those nonprofit organizations on the Raise the Region website.
  4. Running totals will be shown throughout the day at the Raise the Region website.

At the end of the 24-hour period, a pro-rated match per gift will be determined and the Community Foundation will send checks to all participating nonprofits with the amount raised, the pro-rated match, and any EXTRA money from prizes awarded throughout the day. All donations during the 24-hour period will receive a pro-rated portion of the matching gift.  (For example, if the matching gift is $200,000 and the total amount raised that day is $400,000, then the match may be .50 cents on the dollar) A donor is defined as an individual or corporation/business and a donor will be able to designate the participating nonprofit of their choice as a recipient of their gift. *A nonprofit may not make a gift to itself. Each nonprofit will receive one check totaling all donations, net of the deductions, plus the match portion within 30 days of the event’s end date.  Each transaction will be subject to a credit card processing fee of 2.99% and a Kimbia administrative fee of 2.99%. Each transaction will include a 2% gift to the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania to provide for the costs of the match day event and to support the mission of the Foundation. Only credit card donations received through www.raisetheregion.org during the 24-hour window from 12:00AM through 11:59PM on March 12, 2013 will be matched. *No donations via check, cash or stock will be accepted for the matching program. Each gift is 100% tax deductible.  The minimum gift per nonprofit is $25 and the maximum that will be matched is $10,000.   CLICK HERE To donate to the Lycoming County SPCA through the Raise the Region Campaign.
