June 23, 2018  – The Pacific Ocean

Thurston made it!  He has dipped his toes in the Pacific and check out the joy in his step or should I say Zoomies!

Caroline: “Thurston went to the Pacific today! He instantly got the zoomies when his paws hit the sand and he saw the waves. We hiked down to a more secluded beach so he could run free and be far enough from the road. He had sooo much fun sprinting around in the waves and tide pools. We stopped at quite a few beaches along the coast of Oregon and went on a couple short hikes. He’s used to the Jersey beaches an hour from Philly, but the Pacific is a whole new scene! Our usual sunrise trips to Atlantic City are just chopped liver now. (Thurston loves chopped liver though so it’s actually still great to him.)

Tonight we’re camping in a very uncomfortable dried-up riverbed in California. I guess we spent too much time on the coast and all of the campsites were filled up around where we ended up in Oregon. Worth it for a day filled with new beaches! We’ll continue down the coast for another 100 miles or so tomorrow, then head east into Northern California for a bit. Stay tuned!”
